J&J Ventures 2018 VEGAS Tournament Rules

Player Eligibility:

  1. The event is open to qualified J&J Ventures Amusements with the exception of Springfield market league players. 
  2. Be sanctioned by the VNEA for the 2017-2018 membership year through J&J Ventures Amusement.
  3. Play a minimum of 12 league nights with J&J Ventures Amusement between the VNEA eligibility dates of June 1, 2017 and April 15, 2018.
  4. All players must meet all VNEA team eligibility requirements.

 

 POOL TEAM TOURNAMENT INFO

ENTRY FEE: $100.00 per Open Team—Due February 26, 2016

                        $80.00 per Women’s Team

PLAYER/TEAM ELIGIBILITY: Any J & J Ventures ‘17-’18 Summer/Fall/Winter league player/team.

      All players/teams must meet VNEA Open team requirements listed below under Open/Women’s Pool. 

 

Open Pool

A. 5 Player teams

B. To be eligible to compete a team must consist of 2 players from an original league team and the remaining players must come from any team in the J & J  Ventures league system.

C. Teams must compete in the team event at the VNEA to be awarded the team travel prize. If players are subsituted from the original MLT team in order to form a team for the VNEA team event then that team will only be awarded travel prizes based on the percentage of players that participated in the MLT. Example: 4 of the 5 original players from the MLT attend the VNEA team event then they are awarded 80% of the team prize earned at the MLT. At least 3 players that competed at the MLT must compete on the team at the VNEA.

D.  4 Players must have a minimum of 12 league nights and the fifth must have a minimum of 8 league nights

E. Qualifying dates from pool 6/01/17 to 4/15/18

Women’s Pool

A. 4 Player teams

B. To be eligible to compete a team must consist of 2 players from an original league team and the remaining players must come from any team in the J & J  Ventures league system.

C. Teams must compete in the team event at the VNEA to be awarded the team travel prize. If players are subsituted from the original MLT team in order to form a team for the VNEA team event then that team will only be awarded travel prizes based on the percentage of players that participated in the MLT. Example: 3 of the 4 original players from the MLT attend the VNEA team event then they are awarded 75% of the team prize earned at the MLT. At least 3 players that competed at the MLT must compete on the team at the VNEA. 

D. 3 Players must have a minimum of 12 league nights and the fourth player must have a minimum of 8 league nights

E. Qualifying dates from pool 6/01/17 to 4/15/18.

 

 

 

Multi-League Tournament (MLT)

1. Any team meeting eligibility requirements for Las Vegas based on VNEA Requirements is eligible to compete in the MLT.

2. The Players that are attending the Las Vegas Tournament are the players that a team must compete with at the MLT.

3. Tournament travel fund shall be paid to them upon their arrival in Las Vegas

Open Pool

Format is 25 games per match. Should an excessive number of teams enter, then the tournament may be changed to 20 or 15 games per match.

The highest average on file for a player will be used in determining handicap. On files means from any previous season for which we have record or from any state or national tournament play in which a player was tracked.

Teams advancing to the finals must be comprises of players who have played a minimum of 25% of the available games from the preliminary round. Example. 4 matches with 3 rounds per match x 5 games per round = 60 Team games of play divided by 5 players in the open 12 player games would be available for an individual to play. To qualify for the finals a player would have to play 3 games.

The standard VNEA handicapping system will be used for preliminary rounds, no handicap for the finals.

The weaker team shall receive 80% of the difference in spot points. Rounded to the nearest whole number

Total ball points plus any spot points will be used in determining the winners or teams advancing to the finals. During the finals no handicap will be used.

Modified round robin and/or elimination format will be used based on the number of teams that enter the tournament

Women’s Pool

4 players per team Format is 16 games per match. Should an excessive number of teams enter, then the tournament may be changed to 12 games per match. Play will be heads up. NO HANDICAP.

Women’s Singles

Women’s singles will be divided into divisions as equal as possible.  No handicap will be used for the women’s singles since women come from both the open and women’s divisions.  The top player/players will advance to a finals board.  Final will be ran the same as the preliminary rounds.

 

Men’s Singles

Men’s singles will be divided into divisions as equal as possible using the highest average during the past 3 seasons. Players with less than 25% of the total games during a season will play with the same average of the highest average on their board.  (Example: if the highest handicap on the board is a nine (9) that player will play as a nine (9). 

 

Handicapping for open singles: 80% of the total difference in averages will be added to that players final total score. 

 

(Example:  If a board consist of

3 players with a (9) average

4 players with a (8) average

1 player with a (7) average the handicaps are as follows

The 7 will receive 1 point from each 8, 2 points from each 9 for a total of 10 points times 80%  8 points added to his total score at the end of the round robin.

 

The 8’s will receive 1 point from each 9 for a total of 3 points times 80% or 2.4 rounded to the nearest whole number or 2 points added to his total score at the need of the round robin.

 

The 9’s receive no handicap points.

 

The top player/players will advance to a finals board.

 Finals will be a double elimination bracket, race tba.
